Jim Thompson was a US "business man" (former CIA) who disappeared while on a trip to Malaysia in the 60's. He built this amazing home in Bangkok and it is now open for tours. He was a legit business man in that he began a great textile company producing silk wares. You can now find Jim Thompson silk shops all over Bangkok especially in the lobby of fine hotels.
